What's been going on?

Wow, so I haven't really made any posts since May?!? I didn't think it's been that long.

What's been going on? Well, we finished up the Spring semester, and wound up with both of us on the Dean's List! Mmmmhmm...go us! :-) Then we went on a small but FUN weekend getaway to the Texas Hill Country. First was San Antonio, seeing one of my Aunts and cousin and eat lunch at Yardhouse with them. Then we spend the night at this crummy (didn't look crummy on the website) Holiday Inn. Yep, never again if we travel will we be staying at a Holiday Inn. Pictures looked alright of it on the website, but when we got to the area...we were really disappointed. That evening we went to Fogo De Chao (to celebrate our 6 yr anniversary. It couldn't have been a better meal. We even got pics! (well, we got pics of our whole weekend really). Anyway, so if you have never heard of it...it's pretty much all you can eat, and pricey at that. If you think about it, the price is relatively worth it, as you can eat ALL the meat your tummy can stand. We even had room for dessert, which was comp'd because of our anniversary. Dear God was it ever tasty...molten chocolate cake. If you know me well...that's pretty much one of my favorite desserts with cheesecake being number #1.

The next day we went to the Japanese Tea Gardens there (sooooo beautiful...and best of all, FREE). Right after that we drove around the Quarry Market (if I had a load of $, I'd have done maybe just a bit of shoppin', but I didn't). Then we ate lunch at Chuy's since we never been before. I know, we're in San Antonio and we decide to eat at Chuy's...geez...sue us, ok. The place was neat. Great food, too! Once our tummies were full, we decide to head out for the remainder of the trip. Next stop was Kerrville so my hubby could show me this town. He wanted to show me the town because he grew up near here, and went to this town often. Then we went to Harper which is a really small town he lived for a few years. Got to see his house, the school (omg, there were 20 people in his whole class), and that's pretty much it. Wasn't a lot to that town. Was neat though, quaint town.

When we were done with seeing Harper, we drove through Fredricksburg, and saw all kinds of neat shops (again, more pics), even drove through Luckenbach (if you blink your eye, you'll miss it for sure!) While in Fredricksburg we went to a couple wineries. One of them we went to allowed us to keep the glass we tasted the wine in, and it was neat to check out that winery. It was really nice both in the inside and outside. Kinda simple, but neat at the same time. The other one we went to was real nice. Big. Pretty in the inside with all sorts of wines on display, and things to buy. Good thing I didn't have a lot of extra money, because I'd have boughten a thing or two. We did buy us each a wine from there which was really nice. The ones we picked out were good! I think we tasted 5 wines here, I believe?

Ok, so by the time we headed to my Mom's (we were spending the night there, because we were exhausted), I was feeling really loopy. I was being so goofy in the vehicle, and nearly drove my hubby silly.

Get to my Mom's and we visted for awhile, watched a movie, and then later on she made us a delicious spaghetti and meatballs dinner. Of which I now know how to make the sauce. It's as easy as can be, and once I make it...I'm sure my hubby will be happy. He really enjoyed that meal and raved about it the next day or two...mmm that sauce was all I heard!

We left the next morning bright and early as my hubby wanted to get back home at a good enough time to get ready for the workweek and such. Before getting home we stopped at Bucee's and got some banana pudding (I been wantin' to try it), and some fudge (been wanting to try that too).

We agreed that it was a short, but fun time and we've already begun to plan our next vacation!

In other happenings...my husband is going to have surgery in a couple days. For a ganglion cyst that's on his left wrist. They say it is a common surgery. It was hurting, and been bothering him so he had to get it removed. So, Thurs. morning is the surgery. I'm praying, and I ask you pray too that everything goes fine.

I been applying to jobs. I had THOUGHT I'd have had an interview at this place, because the manager even said that he was going to get the hiring manager to call me for an interview. When I hadn't heard from that manager, I called today to check on the status only to find out that they actually weren't hiring. Needless to say, I was a little miffed but I am not giving up!

School is still going well for both of us, and keeps us busy.

To close this, I'd like to say...we been doing fine. It's hotter than a you-know-what here, but hopefully we got some rain or the fall season knocks on our door very soon. This summer has been awful with hardly any rain.

That's all for now :)
